It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our past Chairman, Joe Owens who passed away on Saturday, 19th October 2019. Joe had been battling Motor Neurone Disease for several years but did so with great courage, dignity and never complained. Joe was the Chair of our society for over 20 years and during that time worked tirelessly for the rights of deaf children and their families.

Joe was a giant among men and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will always be known as 'Big Joe', a lovely guy with a big heart who was dedicated to the needs of our deaf children.

Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.
